I’m heading northwards today. From Frankfurt to Stockholm, covering a distance of 1.500 km to the capital city of Sweden, that I will call home for the next 18 months. I’m about to study biomedical physics at the Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (KTH), the Royal Institute of Technology located in the north of Stockholm. But beyond studying, I want to discover a country that is yet unknown to me. I want to see its nature, experience its culture and get to know its people. Let’s see how much of this is possible during my time here.
In this little travel blog I want to share some thoughts about Sweden and the things I experience. But most of all, I want to show pictures taken in Stockholm and hopefully many other cities and places in Scandinavia. I won’t write too much text and thus focus on the picture. Nevertheless I would be glad, if you dropped a line in the comments section below each post!
For many posts you will see a little map indicating where the particular picture was taken. If you don’t want to chronologically read through the articles, there is a map of all posts with associated locations. Currently, there is only one, but I promise to write some more within the next weeks.
Apart from an intensive language course in Swedish, the next four weeks will involve many activities organized by the student union for the international students at KTH. We will take the boat to the Skärgården, hike in the nature reserve in the south of Stockholm and discover the city, so stay tuned for more.
